Dwelling Place-Desert Training!!!

Today second Sunday and ninth day of my landing to Sharjah. The weekend over here is Friday and Saturday. Sunday being the first working day of the week.

In Bible during old testament period God made Israelites to go roundabout in Desert for 40 years to reach Canaan the promised land. He could have taken them directly to the Promised Land in less than one year... but why 40 long years??? It is interpreted that it was God's training His people about the way of life giving the leadership skills to Moses.

Why am i sharing about this over here??? this is what comes to my mind when i think about the dwelling place or the accomadation over here. People like me who enjoyed a single room luxury back home in India, started to share room over here. And many more training people living in the desert will get, to name it.. washing cloths, washing utensils, cooking, buying groceries, etc....

The cost of accomadation here is very high compared to India. In Dubai cost of one bedspace is 800 dhirams (1 dhiram - 12.50 INR now, bed space - just a bed to sleep regardless of people in room). Likeminded and people of same communitities share rooms to save the expense.

The flat where m residing is two bedroom accomadating five people and guests during weekends. An average flat costs 45,000 AED per year, not refundable. This luxuray can be enjoyed by the people whose income range 4000 AED to 8000 AED per month.

Now, the desert training center teaching basic necessities of life for survival anywhere in the world ... :-)

First flight experience and more....

Yuppie........(longer one, read if there is enough time :-)
Well i had forgotten to share about first flight experience.
Entering inside BIA(bangalore internation airport), i had to join the longest que inside for airarabia.com... to receive the dock card and air ticket. With the lappy in hand it was free entry where as the carriage bag had to find its place in air carriage. Being reported 3 hours early had to wait a longtime idley loafing around inside airport. The inside was quite like a mall, with shopping centers and eateries...
To quench the thirst I had to settle with Pepsi costing five times more what we pay outside in India...(taxes u c)

As the flight was early morning 4:50, there were many who were trying to catch their sleep during the waiting time in the lounge. With many attempts i failed to access Wifi connection through laptop...best timepass was listening to songs from ipod..

Entering inside the flight, it was delight as i was given the side seat near the window. But initially there was this nostalgic experience as for the first timers. Incredible views it was through the window, INDESCRIBABLE.... again missed taking snaps... Bangalore was lit like serial lights all over from above...

Now comes the most hilarious part, throughout the journey i was hoping for a very hearty breakfast or something to munch with(chocolates etc...) but ended up with only a pack of water to drink for whole journey:-( ...

The plane had reached maximum of 30,000 feet. While takeoff and landing, buzzing sound is heard in ears, feeling like the eardrum gonna get burst.

Landing Sharjah was really cool, the port was just next to the sea. We will feel as if the plane is going to smooch over the surface of the sea. The view from the flight down is full of dust. The cars, building are fully covered with dust. Pity people over here should take pain cleaning out the dust caused by the desert wind.

There goes the first flight experience...the long story made short...

Etisalat Broadband connection...

In UAE there are only two telephone service providers.. one is Etisalat and Du..
Unlike India the competition is very less here, between the providers.
Today went and booked for Etisalat Broad band connection which is 149 dhs monthly for 256 kbps unlimited. Installation charges of 240 dhs is waved off, if we opt for one year
contract (which i opted).
The connection is said to be reached in 7 days, only then i will be able to continue my MT business here.
Till then??? roam around and get more acquinted with
my new office... :-)

This being my first time travelling abroad, was amazed to see just cars around and hardly any two wheelers. Without car it is very difficult to travel here in the hot condition and humidity. Inside house, office, shops, always the air condition should be on, very common necessity here.

M thinking of posting the pictures, on my next post, lets hope for it. Need to borrow cam, did not carry my digi cam or HTC touch here :-(...

Life begins.....

There we are again... this is the third day of my Sharjah stay
and today is Sunday. But to be frank, there is no atmosphere
of Sunday (the holiday) over here. The day is same as working
day in UAE.

The day of my landing was Friday, being official holiday of UAE.
Had oppurtunity to meet everyone here, kith and kin, following which
in the evening 5:30 there was the Church Service (IPC Sharjah).

Telling about the Church in Arab country Sharjah, they have alloted
a seperate area for the believers. They can build their own building
and have the worship there. The church is very close to the flat where
m staying.

Comparing to Bangalore, the weather is hot for me (35 dg), but ppl ver here say,
this weather is better and not so hot as it should be (42 dg).

got many things to say but... presently using dial up and due to lack of time...
will be continuing further... now going to book for broadband connection and
ride to dubai for some business purposes....

Finally takeoff..

The takeoff day is nearing now. As for final confirmation....
today got the Orginal visit Visa in my hand.

Now what exactly m i going to do there professionally.
Well firstly for sure will be continuing my MT  business, taking lappy along.
Then the rest all depends on the work it is in store for me in Sharjah.

Presently m holding in hand the original visisting visa for 90 days,
will become permanent after applying for another job visa there.

Landing will be on Friday (Sept 12), which is an official holiday for
Middleeast ppl like we have Sunday here. Most probably i will have
my Sunday Service on Friday there. So what a way to start the
Sharjah Journey by going to Church immediately after landing,
nothing comes better than that.

Meanwhile preparation going on for adieus over here in Bangalore.
Mainly from church activities as some of the resposbilities of mine
should be given to others.

Everything God works for the good to those who love HIM.
